Scope and Content:
This series consists largely of technical documents from the St. Roch. Primarily these records take the form of engine room books, though the series also includes other technical documentation of the material elements of the ship, such as manuals and certificates of registration for various aspects of the ship. These technical documents document only the period of the ship’s active existence, and do not include technical information regarding the ship since its transfer to its location in Kitsilano, Vancouver. This subseries also includes, to a much lesser extent, correspondence and supporting materials created and received by the custodians of the St. Roch that relate to the technical documents. Records in this series take the form of certificates, correspondence, engine room registers, notes, plans, instruction sheets and booklets.
